The FIFA World Cup 2034 is proposed to be held in five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and NEOM.

Details of Saudi Arabia’s bold application to host the biggest FIFA World Cup ever hosted in a single nation have been made public by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). This declaration comes after Saudi Arabia officially submitted their bid book for the 2034 FIFA World Cup during a FIFA ceremony held in Paris, France.

Mohammed bin Salman, the prime minister and crown prince, fully supports the official bid slogan, “Growing. Together.” The massive plans and infrastructure projects of Saudi Arabia, which mirror the Kingdom’s historic development, are outlined in the bid book. It also describes the Kingdom’s approach to organizing the FIFA World Cup, one of the biggest and most important sporting events in the world.

The FIFA World Cup 2034 is proposed to be held in five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and NEOM, one of the Kingdom’s most important future city projects, according to the bid book. 15 cutting-edge stadiums, including 11 brand-new, planned stadiums, will be present in the five host cities. Eight venues will be located in Riyadh, the most recent being King Salman Stadium, which can hold approximately 92,000 spectators and will host the first and last games.

In addition, the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Riyadh will have an inventive, modern design, triple-tiered stands, and a breathtaking perspective of one of the Tuwaiq cliffs. The renovated King Fahad Sports City Stadium in Riyadh can hold more than 70,000 people.

The King Abdullah Sports City Stadium on the coast will draw its architectural inspiration from the Red Sea’s coral reefs, while Jeddah’s new Central Development Stadium will be modeled after the city’s historical architecture. The Aramco Stadium in Al Khobar will have a sea-inspired design and be located on the Arabian Gulf shore. King Khalid University Stadium in Abha will temporarily expand to hold more than 45,000 spectators throughout the competition. Running solely on renewable energy, NEOM Stadium, located within THE LINE project, will offer a unique experience.

Ten more training camp locations are part of the hosting strategy, which takes advantage of the Kingdom’s varied topography. Saudi Arabia will meet FIFA regulations with more than 230,000 rooms spread throughout the five host cities. There are 132 training locations in total, spread over 15 cities, including 72 stadiums designated as Base Camp Training Sites.

FIFA will choose one location for the FIFA Fan Festival in each of the ten host cities included in the bid book. King Abdullah Park in Al Khobar, Jeddah Waterfront, Al Bihar Square in Abha, THE LINE marina in NEOM, and King Salman Park in Riyadh are among the locations.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, thanked the Crown Prince for his ongoing empowerment and guidance with regard to Saudi Arabia’s bid for the FIFA World Cup 2034 on the occasion of the bid book’s publication. He also thanked the Leadership for their steadfast support of the Kingdom’s sports industry.

According to Prince Abdulaziz, “Together, we are working towards making Saudi Arabia’s dream of hosting the FIFA World Cup a reality, as outlined in our official bid book. These plans will combine our rich football heritage with our deep passion for the game and will ensure Saudi Arabia’s success as the first nation to host a 48-team tournament in one country.”

The bid book submission and the announcement of Saudi Arabia’s plans to host the world’s most important football tournament, according to Yasser Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), represent an important historic milestone for the nation and a logical next step in the growth of Saudi Arabia’s football and sports industries. He hoped that the Kingdom’s extensive plans to host the FIFA World Cup would thrill soccer fans everywhere and motivate future generations.

At the FIFA ceremony in Paris on Monday, an official SAFF delegation headed by Prince Abdulaziz officially presented the bid book, demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s strong determination to advance football and welcoming sports enthusiasts from all over the world to take part in this historic occasion.
