FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,ticket sales are looming close to 3 million as the countdown continues to the first edition of the tournament in the Middle East, which will get on track at Al Bayt Stadium in just over a month’s time on 20th November.

Qatar is all set to deliver the best-ever edition of the FIFA World Cup. The country today is adorned with state-of-the-art stadiums, training pitches, the metro, and the wider infrastructure, said FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a video message.

Together Qatar is up for delivering the best World Cup ever on and off the field, Infantino added.

During a press conference in Doha, organizers stated a further 30,000 rooms have been put forward to World Cup visitors as Qatar prepares to present sixty-four matches at eight avant-garde stadiums. The Qatar Accommodation Agency offers the largest variety of accommodations. Accommodations can be booked from USD 80 per person, per night, based on two-person occupancy. The options consist of apartments, hotels, and fan villages.

Organisers said 2.89 million tickets have been sold for sixty-four matches to be put up in eight state-of-the-art stadiums. Demand has been at its peak among aficionados based in Qatar, the USA, England, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Brazil, France, and Germany. With 63% of the tickets sold to international clients, the overall ticket sales for the tournament attained 240,000 packages being sold. Tickets for all matches would continue to be issued between now and the end of the tournament, with enthusiasts encouraged to keep checking FIFA.com/tickets for the most up-to-date catalogue. From this week onward, ticket holders would receive an email with information on how to download the ticketing app and retrieve their cellular phone tickets.

The Hayya Card acts as an entry permit for international enthusiasts

Tournament organizers emphasized applying for the mandatory Hayya Card and booking their accommodation at the earliest. The Hayya Card will function as an entry permit for international enthusiasts. In addition, it will offer free of charge public transport across the country and permit access to stadiums for fans with a valid match ticket.

The FIFA Fan Festival

Organisers also delineated the vast assortment of entertainment options that will be on offer to visitors during the tournament. The FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park will host up to 40,000 fans every single day during the tournament. It will be free to attend and screen live matches, host globally renowned artists, and feature football events. There will also be a variety of local and international food and beverage choices.

Additionally, the 6km Corniche activation from Sheraton Park to the Museum of Islamic Art would feature roving performances, retail stores, and food and beverage kiosks. Other activities would include the daily Welcome to Qatar show, water and pyrotechnics display that would feature music from the Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack, inclusive of pieces by Qatari composer Wael Binali and compositions performed by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.

Theme-park rides and other attractions at Al Maha Island Lusail will also be open to fans, as well as the Ras Abu Aboud 974 Beach Club, the Hayya Fan Zone at Lusail South Promenade, and the QetaiFAN Beach Fest. Dance music fans can dance the night away at the 15,000-capacity Arcadia Spectacular and 5,000-capacity ARAVIA by MDLBEAST. In addition, Last-Mile Cultural Activations will offer over 6,000 performances in twenty-one locations, entertaining fans on their way to stadiums.

FIFA operates over 168 official sites through the compact nature of Qatar, and each one of these sites is vital to the operating and effective delivery of this World Cup. Way beyond evaluating the eight stadiums, the volunteers and accreditation centres are now fully operational, with the ticketing centre at the DECC opening tomorrow and the IBC and Main Media Centre to go along, said FIFA Chief Operating Officer – World Cup, Colin Smith.

Following more than a decade of arduous work and close partnership with shareholders across the country, Qatar stands prepared to host a memorable edition of the FIFA World Cup said Yasir Al Jamal, Director General, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC).

Qatar is prepared to host a global commemoration of the magnificent game. The team awaits to welcome fans and players from across the globe as they sample their welcoming hospitality, a vast array of entertainment options, and top-notch international football. It assures to be a unique edition of the FIFA World Cup – and one that would bring about a lasting, positive impact on Qatar, the Middle East, and the Arab world, added Nasser Al Khater, CEO, of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC.
